About the Owner Hendra Purnomo. He attended school in Montreux Switzerland, there he had become familiar with berber's (Bosnian Artist) work which he much admired. Despite the fact that it was Hendra's first adventure into the art exhibition business, the show at the Shangri-la hotel (Jakarta) tourned out to be a huge success with more than 60 paintings. It was such a smash, in fact that others more experienced galleries, kept the ringing him to find out his secret of success. Since then they have copied his style, hoping to get his success.

He promote also Yuri Gorbachev, the grandnephew of former Soviet leader Mikhael Gorbachev. In '95 together with the son of world's famous artist (Mersad Berber), Ensar Berber, Hendra open the 1st Mexican restaurant in Jakarta. Hendra is a talent interior designer, thats never been to Mexico, but his mind travel faster than his body. His design for Jakarta first truly authentic Mexican Restaurant was great, he created the shape of a typical "CASA" a Mexican house and from their on , we can follow one important point of his business philosophy, "a house gallery".

What means promoting an artist ?
Hendra: - well, you meet incredible persons but they don't have any idea how to sell their art, so my job is to teach them what is now in the market, take them understand, that they could eat with the passion, if they follow with their gift the market value.

Where are the artist coming from ?
Hendra: - From everywhere, specially Java and Bali, I promoted also foreigners like Berber and Yuri Gorbachev, and less known painters.

You promoting Indonesian artist outside the country ?
Hendra: - Yes, I start to do it in Australia. Few years ago with a friend we start to send about 6 artist a month to Chigago, now we will start soon in LA, San Francisco, and with Christine Sperber in New York at the MIMI FERZT GALLERY.

How long does it take a painting to reach a high valued in the market ?
Hendra: - It depends of the trends of the market. For traditional painting the market is very difficult cause the antiques market has a higher price and more specific public. For the modern art depends the request of the market. I could start with the paint that the value was $ 200 and in about 5 years the cost can go up to $ 7000.

What is a House Gallery ?
Hendra: - A place where you exhibite art constantly, it is cosy and you can relax, not like an exhibition gallery. It brings more ideas about art and how to situated in your house, give you the chance to live for few minutes the comfortable feeling of being home. People will spend more time admiring that the atmosphere. When i have to decorate the house of the client I always go there first to study they need, what they like it, and in this way looking their house I can look through them and give what they expect.
